Learn how to rock the basics of buttercream, along with how to cut and ice a cake. We will troubleshoot common buttercream and cake icing dilemmas, how to make Swiss, French and Italian buttercream, as well as how to cut your cakes and ice them. (Please note, this is a technique class for buttercream and basic cake cutting/assembly, not a cake decorating class.) Simple decoration techniques will be taught to give your cake a professional finish.
This class is limited to 8 people, to allow for more one-on-one attention and will last about 3 hours. After we finish our buttercream work, join us around the table for a cup of coffee and more cake talk, while we indulge in some of our hard work. Leave with your beautiful 6" cake to devour at home, a Pistol Whipped Pastry apron, recipe booklet, and a Pistol Whipped Pastry t-shirt (please leave your t-shirt size in the notes section when you check out).
What to bring: Show up hungry, ready to learn, and with a pen and paper. We will provide the rest.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes. Non-slip, close-toed shoes. Long hair should be pulled up and we will provide hair nets, or bring a ball cap or scarf to pull hair up. Leave your stunning jewelry at home, because we are probably going to get a little messy, and we don't want those sparkles to get dirty or lost in a sweet treat.
Allergies: Please let us know if you have a severe food allergy. We work with gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and nuts, and these items will be present in this class.
Location: Classes will take place in Mesa, AZ. All class details will be emailed to you after purchase.
Refund Policy: Payments for classes with Pistol Whipped Pastry are non-refundable. If you find yourself unable to attend, you may transfer your spot in the class to someone else, or transfer your spot to another Pistol Whipped Pastry class. All payments are final.
Pistol Whipped Pastry reserves the right to cancel due to chef illness, weather, or equipment failure. We will alert you via phone or email, plus issue a refund or transfer your registration to another class of your choice. No children under the age of 13, and all children aged 13-16 must have a parent or guardian present with them during the class.
